There are differences between disc golf discs you should understand if you are planning to make an impact in the sport. Simply grabbing a frisbee disc and throwing it may be fun for awhile but you won't make much impression on your rivals.

A disc golf set is like your golf club set in traditional golf. Clubs for driving, approach shots, chipping and putting. In disc golf, it's no different except the tool you're using to make the shot is different.

Let's narrow the shot selection down to four. In disc golf you would need a:

- Distance driver

- Fairway driver

- Mid-range

- Putt & approach

Let's take a look at each one individually. Each of the discs mentioned above have a role to play and when you use them as a team on each hole you play and really practice using them individually you will take your game to another level and start to tear up disc golf courses.

Disc Golf Discs Set

#1. Distance drivers are like your driving woods. They are designed to extract maximum distance from your "tee-off" efforts. Just remember to gain the most distance quite often it has nothing to do with the strength of the throw but more to do with technique.

#2. Fairway drivers are often misunderstood by traditional golfers and in a sense, they are also under utilized by disc golfers. Fairway drivers are great tools when you want to get some accuracy going in your game and not only that, they will get you distance as well. If you aren't using your fairway driver disc enough then go and practice with it...it will add a new dimension to your game.

#3. Mid range discs are like your irons. They can cover a variety of distances from long to medium approach shots and are probably the most used disc in your disc bag.

#4. The putt and approach disc is like the final relay runner and it's the one that takes you home. Just like each of the above, the putt and approach is a skill all on it's own and needs to be practiced just as much as the longer hitting discs.

There are two other discs we haven't mentioned but this article is for serious players who are serious about improving their game. Specialty discs are more old school and will often be used in unique situations while recreational discs are just that - for having fun but don't underestimate their effectiveness to sharpen up your skills even when you are in fun mode.

Nintendo`s Wii Sports Resort is a great game with a neat concept. Many people love going to resorts and having a game that highlights some of the fun activities offered through resort vacations is very appealing. This game is perfect for all ages and can really bring friends and family together. With just a few setbacks, this game is well worth taking a look.

This game is packed solid with mini games. There are 12 different sports altogether, but most of the sports have some extra game features that can create about 20 games in all. For example in the Frisbee dog mini game, you can select from three amazing Frisbees and then head over to Frisbee golf if you wish.

The controllers have been improved since Nintendo introduced the Wii Sports back in 2007. It is more accurate with the game and follows what you are doing perfectly. Table tennis if fun to play, because you really have to be on target with what you are doing or the ball falls off the table or you get a miss. With golf, your hands and arms need to be positioned right, or you won`t get a good swing. Even the bowling game has seen much improvement, as now you can actually curve the ball or angle it as it heads down the alley.

Most of the games are better played with a friend. It seems more challenging and definitely more fun, then playing solo. When you are playing Wii Resort Sports alone, there is not much fun as there is no one to compete with. And when competition is not involved it can be hard to stay interested.

The graphics are what you would expect from Nintendo Wii, they are bright and colorful with average graphics, nothing too special. The menu is basic and easy to access, making it simple for any player to get into it and do what they need to do.

The Motion Plus accessory is much needed for this game and comes in the package. It is ultra sensitive and will capture every move you make. And while this accessory can be switched from player to player, it can also be fun to play at the same time as a peer, and so a second Motion Plus accessory would have to be picked up.

Many of these games, while fun at first, soon lose their appeal. Riding a bike for example and swinging your arms around wildly can only hold is fun for so long. While many people love playing this game and do so with friends when they come over, many will admit to playing it by themselves when the excitement wears thin.

The Nintendo Wii Sports Resorts is a game that can provide lots of resort fun. When friends come over or a part is happening, this game can create some interesting memories for everyone. It is a fun game that will have you swinging your arms, kicking your feet and moving your body in some pretty hilarious moves.

The only downside is that you have to pick up a second Motion Plus accessory if you want to play someone at the same time, the games get boring after a while and the graphics are not mind blowing. However, the game pulls its weight in other areas and balances it out with some good features.

1 Hold a Skee-Ball tournament with your pals at the arcade. At 25 cents a pop, the fun 'n' games won't break the bank. The champ gets all the prize tickets!

2 Make a summer scrapbook. Include everything--even the little stuff. The price tag from your fave sundress, amusement park ticket stubs, photo booth pics of you and the crew and vacation postcards are all awesome additions to your book. It'll be a summer you'll never forget.

3 Grow a green thumb! Purchase some packets of flower seeds--cosmo, poppy, sunflower (unsalted, of course!)--and plant them in your own garden patch. Tending to your sprouts will keep you super-busy, and it's oh-so satisfying to watch as your blooms blossom.

4 Rent a tandem bike for a day. It's a bicycle built for-two. Grab a pal, hop on and pedal off for some good laughs: Yeah, it's goofy.... So what?

6 Do some flower projects. Pluck a few wildflowers from a field, and press them between the pages of a phone book for about two weeks until dry. 7 Head for the nearest gumball machine. Now, get four gumballs for a buck for you and each of your girls, and have a contest to see who blows the biggest bubble.

8 Speaking of bubbles... Hit the kiddie section of the dollar store, and buy a few bottles of soapy bubbles. You're never too old to blow bubbles!

9 Buy some zany sunglasses, and wear them in public. They can be ultra-glam, ultra-goofy, ultra-big, ultra-anything! The trick is to find a pair that really attracts attention. You're guaranteed to have an ultra-hilarious day!

10 Play the claw machine two times for a buck. You knaw--the one in which you try to pluck prizes with a mechanical crane. Yeah, it's usually a waste of money... but it's sooo irresistible!

11 Fly a kite on a windy day. Haven't flown a kite since you were a tot? You're missing out! It's not easy to keep that thing gracefully floating up there--but that's what makes it challenging! Fly your kite on the beach or in an open field, where the wind is often at its strongest mph.

12 Turn into an expert. Pick a topic you're really interested in (like surfing, Linkin Park, Paris, butterflies... whatever) and spend a little time each week researching it online. By the end of the summer, you'll practically be an expert on the subject.

13 Go backyard camping. Call your pals, pitch a tent, grab some sleeping bags, and head out your back door. OK, you'll have to forget about the campfire, but that's no reason to forgo the traditional campfire songs and tales. Have a blast sleeping under the stars-while enjoying the indoor plumbing just steps away!

14 Become a bookworm. Make it a goal to finish off a certain number of books this summer. Pick a genre you've never tried before--biographies, sci-fl, historical fiction--and then stake out a few reading spots. Climb a tree, stretch out on the porch swing, or even curl up on the couch on a rainy day.

15 Decorate your tank top. Start with a solid-color tank, and then go all-out with glitter, beads, crystals, markers, you name it. Personalize your shirt to reflect your unique style. Think of it as a summer souvenir!

16 Have a water fight. Get all your pals together, and designate teams. Then grab your water guns, water balloons, buckets, hoses and whatever else you've got...and ATTACK

17 Catch fireflies in a jar. Make yourself an all-natural lightning-bug strobe-light lantern for the evening. Don't forget to throw in a few blades of grass and poke holes in the lid. Just be sure to let them go after a few hours!

18 Become a volunteer at your local nursing home. Your electric smile and enthusiastic personality will have folks at the local home uplifted in no time. Spending even an hour a week playing board games or just talking with residents whose families can't (or don't) visit makes a big difference in their lives. Oh, and the stories they tell!

19 Start a cool collection. It doesn't matter what you collect--just pick something you like, and go for it! Sea glass, shells and bottle caps are popular summer collectibles. Or be a collector of something totally unique, like ceramic cats, funky bandannas or vintage buttons. To get into the collecting groove, visit a local museum and check out its collections for inspiration.

20 Play tag--in the rain. Why stay indoors just because the sun's not shining? Nothing screams summer like a game of soggy tag. Running around in the rain (um, as long as there's no thunder and lightning!!!) is a great way to cool down.

21 Check out any local, free-admission, all-ages music festivals. Many local bands enjoy performing outdoor concerts free of charge. Check your local paper to make sure you're not missing out!

22 Go on lifter patrol. Pick a street, maybe even your own street, and vow to keep it litter-free this summer. Though this takes some time and effort, the results are definitely worth it!

23 Play sponge football with your buds. Be sure to soak the sponge really, really well before tossing it around! Loads of laughs are guaranteed.

24 Go to the nearest park and have a picnic. Nothing beats hanging out on a blanket with your pals. Have everyone pack their favorite snacks, and meet up at different spots each time. Don't forget the Frisbee!

25 Keep a personal diary. Fill it with stories about that guy you met at the park, the monster kid you baby-sit, the huge fight you had with your bro--put it all in there! You'll love going back and reading through it in years to come. Just be sure to keep it in a safe secret spot!

26 Make handmade gifts and cards for upcoming special occasions. When a holiday

28 Develop a new talent. Wish you could play piano like Vanessa Canton or tennis like Serena Williams? All it takes is some daily practice, and you too could discover skills you never even knew you had. Spend an hour at it each day, and you'll be better than ever by the end of the summer--and impressing everyone around you!

29 Make snow slushies--& yummy! Throw some ice cubes in the blender until it is crushed to a very fine consistency. Pack the ice into a cup, and then add your favorite juice, soda or Kool-Aid--and voila! You've got a delicious summer treat to cool you off on ahot day.

For a low cost and fun outdoor party game, try beer Frisbee. It can be played as either a drinking or non drinking game. Here are some rules and how to set up and score the game.

To setup a game, you need to get 2 posts, pipes or ski poles planted in the ground about 30 feet apart. They should also be at chest height. You normally place an empty beer bottle on top of each pole.

The object of the game is to have teams set up whose goal is to throw a Frisbee at the beer bottle and try to knock it off the pole. The opposing team tries to defend the goal. When one team throws the Frisbee at the beer bottle, the objective is to knock it off the pole.

The opposing team is supposed to prepared to catch the Frisbee if it cannot knock the beer bottle off the pole and continues to sail past the pole. If the team is unable to catch the Frisbee, then the other team scores points.

However the Frisbee must be thrown within a catchable area. That is, it cannot be lower than knee high of the opposing player at the place where it crosses the fault line (the line set by the pole).

And it can't be thrown too high such that the other player can't catch it because it is too high for him to jump at it. And it can't be more than one step away from the pole or it would be too wide a throw. If the throw is outside of the catchable area, it is considered a scratch of out of bounds throw. There are no points awarded and the next player must continue.

For scoring, a winning score is based on 21 points. The scoring is set up as follows:

- Zero Points – A uncatchable throw is made

- One Point – The Frisbee is thrown in the catchable zone but the opposing team is unable to catch it

- Two Points – The thrown Frisbee hits the pole and knocks the bottle off. However neither the Frisbee nor the bottle are caught

- Three points – The Frisbee hits the bottle knocking it off the pole.

Both the Frisbee and the bottle are not caught There are some variations to these rules if the game is set up as a drinking game. However the overall game play and scoring is pretty much the same.
