There are differences between disc golf discs you should understand if you are planning to make an impact in the sport. Simply grabbing a frisbee disc and throwing it may be fun for awhile but you won't make much impression on your rivals.

A disc golf set is like your golf club set in traditional golf. Clubs for driving, approach shots, chipping and putting. In disc golf, it's no different except the tool you're using to make the shot is different.

Let's narrow the shot selection down to four. In disc golf you would need a:

- Distance driver

- Fairway driver

- Mid-range

- Putt & approach

Let's take a look at each one individually. Each of the discs mentioned above have a role to play and when you use them as a team on each hole you play and really practice using them individually you will take your game to another level and start to tear up disc golf courses.

Disc Golf Discs

#1. Distance drivers are like your driving woods. They are designed to extract maximum distance from your "tee-off" efforts. Just remember to gain the most distance quite often it has nothing to do with the strength of the throw but more to do with technique.

#2. Fairway drivers are often misunderstood by traditional golfers and in a sense, they are also under utilized by disc golfers. Fairway drivers are great tools when you want to get some accuracy going in your game and not only that, they will get you distance as well. If you aren't using your fairway driver disc enough then go and practice with it...it will add a new dimension to your game.

#3. Mid range discs are like your irons. They can cover a variety of distances from long to medium approach shots and are probably the most used disc in your disc bag.

#4. The putt and approach disc is like the final relay runner and it's the one that takes you home. Just like each of the above, the putt and approach is a skill all on it's own and needs to be practiced just as much as the longer hitting discs.

There are two other discs we haven't mentioned but this article is for serious players who are serious about improving their game. Specialty discs are more old school and will often be used in unique situations while recreational dics are just that - for having fun but don't underestimate their effectiveness to sharpen up your skills even when you are in fun mode.

These games are big time hookers as well.

On the internet Golf Game Technology

As stated earlier, the majority of these games are browser based, in the sense that you do not have to install software on your computer. All you have to do is open the exercise site and install a small add on and play the exercise. An on the internet golf game is made using Java or Shockwave technology, and chances are that you already have both these already installed on your system.

The upside of these technologies is that they allow the exercise to be cached on your computer and thus place no load on the server hosting the activity. These games can range from the very vital types to the highly sophisticated ones with complex graphics, but no matter what, they are enjoyable and great time killers. Of course, there are discs available for both computers and consoles too, but browser games rule the lot.

Playing an on the computer golf activity is a excellent way to kill hours. Just take care to remember that your golf score can stay below par but not your productive work hours.

Fade Gear Crunch Box Disc Golf Bag - Dude Camo

Truth be told - I cringe when I see golfers pumping up on weights and machines in the gym. As a matter of fact - I think it's pretty foolish for the typical golfer to be lifting weights and pumping up on all the machines to try and enhance his golf performance.

Your golf training emphasis should be on stretching and flexibility improvement exercises - and then core conditioning moves.

Add some hill-work cardio and vestibular conditioning on soft discs or rolled up towels.

Most of what I just mentioned can be done very effectively with simple body-weight exercises.

Throw in some handy and cheap resistance bands, a nice floor mat, a 55 or 65cm swiss/exercise ball, maybe a light medicine ball, and possibly even some light hand-weights (8's, 10's and 12's) - and you have everything you need for some serious golf conditioning and performance improvement - as well as a smart, all around, well balanced fitness program for all areas of your life - even in the bedroom (because that score counts too you know? - just ask your woman).

With all that being said - I know there are still some golfers out there who are going to still 'hit the gym' and do what everyone else is doing... So - if this sounds like you here are a few body and game destroying exercises I would advise you to drop from your program:

ONE - Lat Pulldowns Behind the Neck/Head

TWO - Shoulder Presses from Behind the Head/Neck

THREE - Stiff Legged Dead-lifts

FOUR - Traditional Bench Presses

FIVE - Wide Dumbbell Flyes or Regular Cable Cross Flyes

SIX - Old-School Sit-Ups

Those are just a handful of potential game and body killers - and there are more - but I don't want to overwhelm you. You should understand that as a golf nut you need to be doing exercises that take into account your choice of sport and how your body must perform in that specific sport - in your case the sport being golf.

Golf requires and synergistic blend of range of motion, strength and golf specific endurance - that cannot be realized via a typical, general exercise routine.

Employ total-body stretches and flexibility exercises as your golf conditioning base, core training as your next level and then endurance as the last touch for a complete program.

Combine each of these golf conditioning elements consistently and your buddies will want to know "what you've been doing".

Whether or not you choose to share your golf secret-weapon with the 'boys' is up to you, big swinger.

Many of the golf GPS units have automatic course recognition when you power the unit on. What does this fancy term mean? It simply means that when you pull up to the first tee box and power up your unit; the unit will recognize the golf course that you are getting ready to play and provide you with the proper information.

Many of the golf GPS units are very easy to use. You simply locate yourself from where you would like a yardage and the GPS technology in the unit will give you the proper yardage to the front middle and to the back of the green. Many of the golf GPS units have a digital readout on a large display that will fit into your pocket or easily attach to your golf bag for easy access.

The cost of the golf GPS units will vary depending on the features on the unit. The pricing of golf GPS units begin around $175 and can reach as much as $500. Keep in mind that rarely does the fun end there as many units have a yearly usage fee to access the golf courses. Personally, it is very important to t open the left inter, so that the hands can pass firstly.
