Hi we will be staying in Auckland City over Xmas, I would be very grateful if anyone could recommend which golf courses would be good to play as we have never been to NZ before. I have picked out a few, Remuera,Aviator,Chamberlain,Formosa,Titirangi.
The hotel's i have picked out are Crown Plaza, Duxton, The Langham park,or if anyone could recommend one near all the action Bar's Restaurant's,etc that would be great.
We will then head out of the City for our second week to go up to Whangarei the golf courses. I have picked are GulfHarbour, Club Paihia, Mangawhai, We would love to play Kauri Cliffs but I think its a bit out of our price range.????

Is $9,500 a good deal for a 1967 chevy pickup totally restored.?

I am just wondering if it is a good deal this pickup is 1967 Chevy C-10 4weel drive with an 8inch lift, 37 inch Mickey Thompson Tires. It has fresh paint professionaly done in midnight blue. It has brand new left & right doors, door hinges, door latches & striker plates, hood, hood hinges, grille trim, emblems, chrome front & rear bumpers, tail light bezels, and a lot more. It has a rebuilt 350, Rhino lined bed, redone underbody (frame off resteration)and a new alpine stereo. I think it is pretty sweet. Is it a good deal at $9,500? It is supposedly apraised at over $19,500.
I am looking at buying it, not selling.

Spade terminals are a great way of terminating your cables: not only do they make hooking and unhooking a connection much easier, they also help to protect the delicate copper wire found in speaker cables from corrosion which can seriously impact the overall performance of your system, so it's little wonder that spade terminals are so widely used.

If you buy your speaker cable with the terminals already installed then you don't have too much to worry about, although it would be worth while just to check that the manufacturer has installed them properly. However, if you buy your spade terminals separately and terminate your speaker cable yourself then it is really important that you install your terminals properly.

In the best case scenario a badly installed spade terminal could degrade the signal and there would be a noticeable drop in sound quality; but in the worst case scenario a badly installed spade could cause your system to short out, resulting in irreparable damage being done to the sensitive electronics inside your audio components.

There are so many different designs and styles of spade terminal that it would be impossible to discuss them all, but most of the higher end terminals feature some kind of insulated jacket, or sleeve, that covers the area where the bare speaker cable is actually attached to the spade lug. If you are using a spade like this then be sure that there are no stray wires sticking out and then carefully fit the insulated jacket.

However, if your spade terminals do not feature this jacket, then it's up to you to ensure the connection between cable and spade lug is properly insulated. Not only will this help to protect your audio equipment, it will also ensure that you get the very best levels of performance out of your system, and as an added bonus it also makes the connection look much neater and more professional which is important for people who have their audio components on display. Don't worry; fitting your own insulation jacket to a spade terminal is actually a much easier job than it sounds!

First of all you will need some shrink wrap tubing. You should be able to get this from most audio or hardware stores; you can even pick it up in most car maintenance stores too. When this tubing is heated it shrinks and forms a neat jacket that helps to insulate the connection between the speaker cable and spade lug; it will also help to keep the connection securely fastened.

Fit the spade terminal onto the end of the speaker cable as per the instructions and then cut a length of the shrink wrap tuning so that it is long enough to cover the joint. Slide the tubing over the top of the joint, leaving just enough room to slightly cover the actual spade lug.

Use a heat gun to shrink the tubing onto the cable to create a secure seal. Remember you are trying to get the tubing to cover as much of the exposed metal as possible in order to minimize the risk of shorting out your whole system; making sure most of the exposed metal is covered in shrink wrap also helps to reduce the risk of corrosion. If you have never used shrink wrap tubing or a heat gun before then it's a good idea to have a few practice attempts before you actually do this for real since it can be hard to judge how far the tubing will shrink, which can lead to some messy or insecure seals.

Once you are finished you can use a sharp knife to trim away any excess shrink wrap to leave you with a professional looking result. Now repeat this process for the rest of your spade terminals and then sit back and enjoy the peace of mind that your home entertainment system is fully protected.

Mirror (Zerkalo) was made in 1974 and is the perfect illustration of Andrei Tarkovsky's genius as a director.

Mirror provides the viewer with vivid images of unbelievable power and beauty and is an evocation of childhood which is without equal in cinema.

Tarkovsky said of Mirror:

"There are no entertaining moments in the film. In fact I am categorically against entertainment in cinema it is as degrading for the author as it is for the audienceÂ”

DonÂ’t let this put you off, Mirror may not be an easy film to watch, but has much for the viewer to experience and enjoy.

The plot

A with all Tarkovsky's films it is nostalgic and deals with innocence lost and the film focuses on the futile struggle to re visit, or hold onto to the past.

Mirror is a gripping, beautiful and sometimes horrifying film.

Mirror focuses on the regrets of a man that is dying in his 40's and the film changes time constantly between his harsh childhood in the war and the present.

In fact, the viewer is never sure whether their in the present or the past.

Mirror has no conventional plot; it is simply a collection of images strung together.

The film effectively lets the viewer draw his own conclusions from what they have seen and there is no direction from Tarkovsky at all.

In addition to the flashbacks between childhood and the present time, there are interludes of newsreel footage which serve as the narrator's silent commentary on the events influencing his life.

Tarkovsky obscures time by using the same actors to portray the two separate phases of the narrator's life.

For instance, Margarita Terekhova puts in a stunning performance as both the wife and mother of the narrator.

To attempt to conform these images into some coherent plot or universal conclusion is pointless, but this does not detract from the film.

What makes the film so special is the imagery and visual splendour of the film.

Imagery

Andrei Tarkovsky's films are all characterised by metaphyical themes and Mirror is a perfect example.

Tarkovsky stated

"words cannot express a person's emotions".

However, imagery can and does in Mirror.

This is the true genius of the film and Tarkovsky's mastery of the camera is unrivalled.

The film features extremley long takes, and images of stunning beauty.

Recurring themes in Mirror are dreams, memories and the innocence of childhood.

Running water is always present accompanied by fire, rain, reflections, and characters reappearing in front of long panning movements of the camera.

Tarkovsky developed a theory of cinema that he reffered to as "sculpting in time".

By this, Tarkovsky meant that the unique characteristic of cinema as a medium was to take the experience of time and alter it.

By the utilization of long takes and few cuts, he tried to give the viewers a sense of time passing, time lost, and the relationship at specific periods in time.

Connection with the audience

It is the intentsity of the imagery that makes Mirror such a beautiful film and forms the connection between Tarkovsky and his audience.

In many instances simple images are seen in way we have never seen them before, with an intensity that grips the viewer and draws them into Tarkovsky's world.

Rain dripping from a window, a milk jug as it falls and shatters on the floor, wind gusting through a house or field, simple images but filmed in a unique way.

The intensity of the shots reflecting perhaps how we would view these images if we were close to death.

The film also makes simple scenes seem dramatic, such as the excitement of the children watching a burning house, or the joy of the fathers visit.

The imagery while beautiful still reflects the isolation and the emotions of the characters.

For example, the dacha of Tarkovsky's childhood stands in deep and brooding countryside and the camera lingers on the characters faces constantly throughout the film probing their emotions,and lingering on their pain and anguish.

Tarkovsky said of Mirror:

Â“The facts are so simple; they can be taken by everyone as similar to the experience of their own livesÂ”

This is the power of Mirror; we can relate to the images in the film in our own way and also get an insight into the tortured genius that was Andrei Tarkovsky.

Anyone else have the fisherprice jungle auto mirror?

I have it and I have the green clicker, and the green clicker only works for like 15 minutes and then I have to turn off the mirror and turn it back on again for the green clicker to work, has anyone else had this problem? (I know I sound confusing, but if anyone else has this product they will know what I am talking about).

Try changing the batteries in one or both of the parts. That was the problem with mine.

There are very many reasons to it but in this article we will look over the biggest reason in todayÂ’s world and that is to release STRESS. So what is stress, can we get rid of it through smoking, if not then how can we get rid of it, lets look at the reason behind smoking.

Tobacco the chemical contained in the cigar narrows the blood vessels and strains our heart. This gives you a larger risk of strokes and heart disease. If you havenÂ’t stopped yet them you need go for a stress free way of stopping. That way youÂ’ll not feel worse off than when you smoked.

What if I smoke cannabis often and also exercise regularly?

I go to my gym 5 days a week on average and proceed to do the following:

1. 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise on an eliptical

2. Full upper body work out every other day

3. Full lower body work out every other day

I am an active person and like to play sports with friends but in my social time i smoke pot. I do not smoke tobacco though or drink regularly. Does my regular cardio workout counter my smoking?

Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) are the most essential devices used by the fire fighters and rescue workers for safety in oil fields, mining, marine and many industrial units.

What is the point of sports wrap and does it do any good?

I used to do cheerleading and I had a bad wrist so my Coach used wrap on it. I also used to play Volleyball and my coach did the same thing for it. Now i have a bad knee and my p.e. teacher suggested i use sports wrap for that. I know my tennis coach will want me to use that with my brace but I have no idea what wrap is really good for. Help please?

a wrap helps keep your joint/ligaments in place to prevent any further or future injuries. by wrapping it, you are holding it in place to keep it from moving farther than it should, which would result in a sprain or another injury. during a soccer game i severely sprained and fractured my foot/ankle and now whenever i play i have to wrap it to prevent myself from twisting it again because i have a much higher chance of re-injury now that it has been injured once. the same applies to you. trust me it is doing good! you will want to listen to you coaches so that you can try not to get anymore injuries!
